italian-twinningITALIAN FOOD & WINE EVENT

Talgarth Town Twinning Association’s second fund-raising event of the year was held at the Bridge End Inn, Talgarth on Friday 6 March.

Forty friends of the association and their guests enjoyed an excellent meal featuring a selection of antipasto followed by a lasagne cooked to a traditional Italian recipe with panna cotta accompanied by cannoli for dessert. The meal was accompanied by some specially imported Italian wines. A well-known premium Italian beer brand was available as an option.

The Bridge End Inn, under new management for a year, has been completely refurbished. Now offering a warm and friendly atmosphere that, last Friday night, reflected that of a typical Trattoria.

An entertaining Italian Food and Wine quiz completed the evening.

burns-nightTalgarth Town Twinning association’s first fund-raising event of 2015 was held at The Castle Hotel, Talgarth on Sunday 25 January to celebrate Burns Night.

A packed restaurant, decorated with traditional Scottish themes, echoed to the sound of bagpipes, clapping and singing as the Haggis was piped in. The time-honoured Burns Night supper of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties was served with the convivial atmosphere of the occasion helping to make the event an evening to remember.

An entertaining quiz completed the evening.

Our thanks go out to the owners and staff of the Castle Hotel, Talgarth and all of the other providers, helpers and supporters.
